Intrigue of the British in the Hankow incident revealed

Telegram ɔublished by the Foreign Minister Chen on the

15th

A Telegram dated the 15th. from Eugene Chen, the

Foreign Minister of the National Goverment, states that

normal conditions have been restored in Hankow. But the

British merchants have purposely suspended their business-

which reveals their crafty plans. The telegrams reads

as follows:-

The National Government has made it its duty to

afford proper protection to the lives and property of all

British and other foreign subjects in Hankow while under

its administration. In case of any trouble arising out of any particular circumstances, the National Government

if it fails to fulfil its duty, will make good any loss

that may be suffered.

under which, unless the Concession was returned to the

Administration of the National Government, armed British

Let us look into the case deeper, and take it as a movement forced by circumstances, which in more serious cases, often develop beyond the control of any man who may desire to take or has already taken precautions to check them.
